Bret and I are in Alaska right now... we drove up to seattle in our tiny vw convertable with all our festival stuff... parked it in a lot by the airport and then flew to Alaska... we will be leaving the land of the midnight sun Aug 8th... then I believe caravaning to Shambhala with folks from Bellingham Washington ... will I have the pleasure of dancing with any of my Bay Area friends in Canada this year? let me know :) Soooo... My trip to Alaska is more of a family thing then an adventure thing... I have come to the "Last Frontier" to reconnect with my familia and introduce them to the prince charming I've been creating "WOW" with for almost a year and a half.... it is a bonus to admire the land that gave me fresh air to breathe and clean water to drink as I sprouted into a dancing wild flower creative child ... but adventures have unfolded here and there for Bret and I... We were found by a man we found ;) who invited us to do a work trade thing for an overnight sea kyaking trip... our painting and sheetrocking skills landed us inbetween towering majestic temperate rainforest covered mountains that admired themselves humbley in the mirror that we rippled below... salmon joyfully leaped above and beyond thier world as we slapped it with our water machetes... we carved and cut through the muscle burning... life afirming salty "free" way for three hours till we slid into the cove where the bald eagle checked us in... we camped among the moss covered rocks and on the black shale covered floor... wich makes the sound of a hundred skilled tap dancers jazzing it up under your toes... we ate and slept at the base of an elderly baby giant wearing a layered pettycoat of green accented by a lace of wild flowers and glacial streams.... who wore a crown of clouds that said "I dew" every morn and eve while the midnight sun played peak a boo through them... we hiked a trail that revealed the virgin had been taken but was no less admirable or worth loving... beautiful... strong... fertile and full of life... she showed us how fragile she has been when pumled by a humans clutch... traveling up and out from under her skirt we arrived at the painful scar she is now slowly reclaiming as her own... World War II created a hasty and faulty desire to rape and cut into her belly... leaving empty cement dwellings that come alive with playful accoustics... no matter how quiet the sound the hollow walls vibrate the air that whispers through them... We sang to her and let it bounce around our bodies and in hers.... we admired her views and her family... treked back down her historic treasure trail down to her feet were we bowed and layed our heads and kissed her sweet air till we fell asleep... good night feathered friends... furry hosts... and flipin' water dwellers... you are gracious hosts indeed! and good night from alaska my fellow humans ;)
